About Me
Omoregie Osakpolor (b.1990) is an independent filmmaker and documentary photographer based in Lagos, Nigeria. His work focuses majorly on social change and justice, and explores such themes as displacement, forceful eviction, migration, social welfare for the elderly and security. Some of which have been featured on CNN Africa, BBC, Quartz and Aljazeera.
In 2019, his short film; “Grey” won the Fashola Photography Foundation Prize. He was nominated for the Edwin George Prize for Photography at The Future Africa Awards in 2017, and for the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass in 2020. He was a finalist at the Art X Prize, 2021. “Inaccessible Cities,” a website documentary project which he worked on as the cinematographer in Lagos with AJ Contrast won the Gracie Award (for information/Entertainment) in 2022.
He is a member of 1884 Photo, a visual storytelling collective based in Lagos, Nigeria.
